Clinical investigation on combined trabeculectomy with amniotic membrane under scleral flap for refractor glaucoma

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of trabeculectomy combined with amniotic membrane inserting under scleral flap for patients with refractor glaucoma. Methods 40 eyes of 32 patients with glaucoma were underwent trabeculectomy combined with amniotic membrance insertion under scleral flap.Filtering bleb,intraocular pressure and complications were observed after surgery.3-24 months’ follow-up. Results 34 eyes were type Ⅰ and Ⅱ bleb,6 eyes were Ⅲ and Ⅳ bleb.The average intraoeular pressure was controlled at 13.2±2.7 mmHg at the first 3 months and 15.6±3.1 mmHg in the 12 the month after surgery.We used drugs to control intraoeular pressure for 2 eyes.5 eyes with anterior chamber exudation and 1 eye which was neovascular glaucoma with small hyphema were found post-surgery.but they all recovered in a week. Conclusions Combined trabeculectomy with amniotic membrane insetion under scleral flap can increase the success radio in glaucoma surgery.
