Craftsmanship of traditional architecture in Taiwan and the south of Fujian

The traditional architecture in the south of Fujian(Min'nan area) inherited architectural mode of Chinese traditional architecture with wood structure as a main style and then this architecture mode was brought into Taiwan when immigrants settled down in Taiwan. In current architectural residual construction, not only architectural skill, which was official style in the book of construction approach and construction principle, but also civil skill of traditional architecture design and construction, which was handed down from ancestral craftsmen, has been existing and then peculiar craft skill with local characteristics came into being. In Taiwan, some can find the similar traditional architecture in level types to Fujian's or even the same as Fujian's.So, it is concluded that Taiwan's architecture is almost the transplantaion of original mode on the types of city, residence, courtyard, religious architecture, guild hall shape, design, and construction method. Meanwhile, based on the feature of Chinese traditional architecture and Min'nan traditional architecture, Taiwan also pursued the local characteristics of architectural culture, espectially in dettail handling, there are some differences between Min'nan and Taiwan, and these differences reveal colorful local characteristics in Chinese architecture culture.
