Abstract

Objective To study the clinical significance of P glycoprotein(P gp),glutathione S transferases(GST π) and DNA topoisomerase(TopoⅡ) expression in gastric carcinoma tissue. Methods The expressions of P gp?GST π and TopoⅡ in 125 cases of gastric carcinoma were detecd by S P immunohistochemical technique, its correlation to clinical pathologic characteristic of gastric carcinoma was explored. Results Positive expression of P gp?GST π and TopoⅡ were 56.8%?62.4% and 86.4% in cases of gastric carcinoma. The expressions of P gp?GST π and TopoⅡ were not found to correlate with patient′s age, sex, tumor size, tumor location, invased layer, differentiated degree, lymph node metastasis. Conclusion The determination of P gp?GST π and TopoⅡ may be useful for the establishment of chemical theraphy regimen in gastric carcinoma.
