Abstract
The synthesis and the colour reaction of a new reagent(CPCTZCA)with Copper(Ⅱ)were studied.The results showed that the new reagent reacts with Copper(Ⅱ)to form a stable blue purple complex(1:2 by mole)in the medium of NH_3-NH_4Cl with pH 9.0.The apparent molar absorptivity was 1.4×104(L·mol-1·cm-1),and maximum absorption wavelength was at 645 nm.Beer's law was obeyed in the range of(0~20)μg/25mLfor Cu 2+.The method had been used for the direct determination of copper in aluminum metal alloy and magnesium metal alloy.The results compare favourably witb the cerified valued.
