Advances in etiology and pathogenesis of alcoholic liver disease from western and traditional Chinese medicine perspectives

Clinical guidelines have provided evidence for the diagnosis of alcoholic liver disease(ALD), however, the disease degree is not often proportional to alcohol consumption. In order to prevent the occurrence of ALD more effectively and provide better treatment, it is necessary to make clear the etiology and pathogenesis. According to the studies on the etiology and pathogenesis of ALD, the review focuses on the risk factors, the molecular mechanism of action and the pathogenesis of ALD from traditional Chinese medicine perspective.
