Abstract

Two resistant cultivars,Haifeng Zt-277(high resistant to Phytophthora blight),Tangjiao No.2(resistant to Phytophthora blight),and a susceptible cultivar Tianjiao No.2(susceptible to Phytophthora blight) were used as materials for Phytophthora capsici inoculation. The activities of enzymes related to disease-resistance including superoxide dismutase(SOD),peroxidase(POD) and the content of malondialdehyde(MDA) in pepper leaves were tested after the inoculation. The results indicated that the activities of SOD and POD in resistant pepper leaves were significantly higher than those of susceptible pepper whether or not inoculated with P.capsici.However,the MDA content in the susceptible pepper was higher than that of resistant peppers.
