Constructive influences of Tanjing (Tribune Scriptures) on Building and Modeling of Chan sect

In the viewpoint of direction-taking, the paper makes a comparison between Hui Neng′s Chan doctrine expressed in Tanjing (Tribune Doctrine) and Shen Xiu′s Buddhist thinking of the same era. By analyzing the purpose-nature influence of the Chang doctrine thought of Tanjing on the later Chinese Chan Sect, it is proposed that the comprehension of Tangjing is not only a necessity to understand the basic spirit of the Chan Sect culture, but also an aid to master the elite of traditional Chinese culture.
