Abstract
The adsorption of phenol on hypercrosslinked polymeric adsorbent(NDA-100) was studied.Batch adsorption experiments showed that phenol can be well adsorbed on DNA-100 resin.(Equilibrium) adsorption data fitted both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms.Adsorption was exothermic and basically of physical character. In the column adsorption process,a theoretical model was adopted for representing the phenol change in salicylic wastewater exiting the column. The predictions using the proposed model were found to compare well with the experimental date of column phenol adsorption test. With properly identified parameters, the column model offers a convenient means for accurate estimation of the breakthrough time and the adsorption capacity of an adsorption column.
