Abstract
Objective To analyzed the dynamic changes of resistance of methicillin -resistant Staphylococcus aureus to antibiotics in the last nine years and provide guidance for clinical treatment. Methods The minimal inhibiting concentration of 272 strains of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolated during the years of 1996~2004 in Hainan Provincial People's Hospital to 9 antibiotics were determined. Results The resistance of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus to nine antibiotics ,except vancomycin, was increasing year after year. The susceptibility of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus to nine antibiotics was , except amikacin, lower than 60%. Conclusion Monitoring of the resistant status of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus can both guiding the clinical use of antibiotics and reducing the occurrence of drug resistance.
