Abstract
Objective To study the effect of psychological health knowledge education and intervention on mental health and coping style in recruits. Methods Three hundred and sixty-seven recruits were divided into three groups (Group l,Group 2,and control group) and surveyed with SCL-90 and CSQ self-tests. Collective psychological health education and individual consultations were applied to Group 1, and only the former (without individual consultation) to Group 2. Results There were no obvious differences in the scores of SCL-90 (except two factorial scores in Group 1, which were higher than those of control) and CSQ among three groups before psychological intervention. After intervention, the psychological problems in Group 1, Group 2, and control group were decreased by 32.14%, 27.89% and 15.24% respectively( P0.01,P0.05),and the total score of SCL-90 in three groups were 123.41±24.20,125.06±24.85, 131.84±26.40 (P0.01,P0.05). The scores of CSQ-PC in three greups were 3.58±0.47,3.51±0.49,3.44±0.54, respectively (P0.05), of CSQ-NC were 2.32±0.57,2.33±0.56,2.48±0.61 (P0.05). The performances of military training in Group l, Group 2 were superier to those of control. Moreover, the above results in Group 1 were better than those in Group 2. Conclusions Psychological cducation and intervention may be an effective measure to improve the soldier quality and psychological health.
