Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to research the seismic behavior of the ring beam joint.By experimenting on two concrete filled steel tubular column-ring beam joint specimens subjected to cyclic later load, the seismic behavior of the ring beam joint was studied with the following achievements obtained. The hysteresis loops are plump when the maximum load is reached, and the loops have different extent of pinch at the descending stage of lateral load.In general, the specimens exhibit good energy dissipation capacity.Due to the independence of the concrete filled steel tubular column and the ring beam at the connection, failure of the joint will not influence the loading capacity of column. The result of research indicates that this kind of joint has a good seismic behavior.
