Abstract

The fold-thrust zone in the southern Junggar foreland basin experienced the multiple-phased tectonic movements, which made the condition of the formed reservoir extremely complex. Systematically analyzing the factors such as source rock, palaeo-high, the cap rock and fault factors, we discover that the effective source rocks are controlling the distribution of the hydrocarbon, and palaeo-high is controlling the direction and distribution of the nonage hydrocarbon migration, and the link-source faults are controlling the distribution of the hydrocarbon, key factors of hydrocarbon influx and conservation in the high quality cap rock, the fault closure property is controlling stratigraphic position, in condition that there are adequate hydrocarbon resources, the fault and the cap rock are the main factors of hydrocarbon accumulation in the fold-thrust zone in southern Junggar foreland basin.
