Abstract

This paper dealt with membrane catalytic oxidation of toluene to benzaldehyde in Al2O3tube which loading Fe-Mo catalyst. Three different feeding modes were investigated. The first one istoluene feeding from shell side to tube side passing through the membrane and air feeding in tube side. The second one is air passing through the membrane and toluene feeding in tube. The third one istoluene and air entering from tube side together. This paper also considered the effects of thetemperature, the ratio of air and toluene, liquid toluene space velocity. It was found that the first feedingmode at 600℃ cohld get the highest yield and selectivity of benzaldehyde. Results showed also thatincreasing liquid toluene SV and the ratio of air and toluene in a certain range would increase the yteldof benzaldehyde.
