An Empirical Study on Relationship between Urban Sustainable Development and Urban Competitiveness

Abstract

The paper reviews the literatures on urban sustainable development and urban competitiveness, and studies the relationship between them by fitting a structural equation model with 209 sample cities. The study shows that there is a positive effect of urban sustainable development on urban competitiveness and its standardized value is 0.86. Finally, the article discusses how to improve a city’s sustainable development.
