Abstract
Objective To explore the methods for etiological diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal dysfunction in children with critical diseases. Methods Clinical data of 44 children with critical diseases complicated with gastrointestinal dysfunction were retrospectively analyzed. Results Among all the 44 patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction,66%(n=29)were of mild degree and 34%(n=15)were of severe degree. After treatment,100%(n=29)of the mild cases and 80%(n=12)of the severe cases were cured, but 0.6%(n=3)of all the cases died. Conclusion Gastrointestinal dysfunction is the early manifestation of gastrointestinal function failure and can be reversed. Treatment of primary diseases in early stage and comprehensive treatment can be effective ways in the treatment of gastrointestinal function failure.
