On Chinese Modernization and Post Modernization in the Background of Globalization through the Point of View of Confucianism

Globalization is one specific stage from modernization to world unity. Taking Confucianism as an example, this paper discusses the relationship between traditional culture and modernization and that between modernization and post modernization and points out that we should take cultural development as our foundation and focus on the future of the cultural development. Chinese culture should be taken as the standard and the culture of all countries as environment. We should oppose both nihilism and colonialism in national culture. Measures in dealing with the relationship among traditional culture, modernization and post modernization are also proposed.
