Abstract
Improved firewood stoves are playing an important role in the ecological rehabilita-tion in Western China. This paper formulates the concept of ecological correlation index which is applied to identify the contribution of different fuelwood or straws and stalks saved from improved firewood stoves.Shadow engineering approach is applied to value the benefit of ecological impact. The approached are applied to a real household case in rural area of western China.
