Abstract

Modified bentonite with local low and medium grade was used to adsorb COD of Urumqi Eastern Wastewater Treatment Plant, and its adsorption behavior was studied. Results showed that the penetration adsorption capability of modified bentonite was 52.79%mg/g at the optimum adsorption condition, with adsorption isotherm in line with linear model.By adsorption kinetics study, the adsorption activation energy was 28.07KJ/mol.The burning test was conducted to study the feasibility of recycle of modified bentonite.
