Anti-tumor angiogenesis of four different active ingredients from Glycyrrhiza

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the anti-angiogenesis on tumor of four active component in Glycyrrhiza:isoliquiritigenin, isoliquiritin, liquiritigenin and liquiritin.Methods:IC50 was determined by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium MTT, wound migration assay was used to investigate the cell migration, the effect of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP-2)was evaluated by gel zymogram and western blot, ELISA was used to be observe the inhibition of vascular endothelial growth factor VEGF.Results:The value of IC50 were different:isoliquiritigenin 40.3 μM±2.5 μM, liquiritigenin 181.5 μM±4.1 μM, isoliquiritin 320.2 μM±2.8 μM, liquiritin 452.4 μM±3.6 μM,Inthesameconcentration60μM,all of the active component have the ability inhibited the cell migration,thesecretion of MMP-2 and VEGF.The contribution were Isoliquiritigenin liquiritigenin isoliquiritin liquiritin.Conclusion:Four active component in Glycyrrhiza we studied have the anti-angiogenesis Effect on tumor.
