Progress in Transplantation Strategy of Endothelial Progenitor Cells

Abstract

Endothelial progenitor cells,the precursors of endothelial cells,are stem cells that are associated with angiogenesis in adult individuals.These progenitor cells have broad clinical applications in the treatment of ischemic diseases and vascular injury as revealed both by animal experimentation and clinical trials.This article reviews the progress in transplantation strategies of endothelial progenitor cells and their biological characteristics.
