Abstract
The adsorption of copper(Ⅱ) ions on kaolinite and the influence of humic acid(HA) were studied by using the method of potentiometric stripping analysis(PAS).The results showed that the adsorption amount of copper(Ⅱ) ions on kaolinite increased as pH value of ambient solution increased.At PH 4,the adsorption amount of copper(Ⅱ) increased very slowly,while,it increased quickly at 4 pH 5.5,but,an adsorption plateau appeared at around pH 6 with the increase becoming slow.Under acidic conditions,the addition of humic acid increased the adsorption amount of copper(Ⅱ) ions on kaolinite,and the adsorption percentage on humic acid-kaolinite complexes was enhanced obviously in comparison with kaolinite,which attributed to the formation of ternary complexes of Al-HA-Cu at the edge of kaolinite.Meanwhile,the adsorption amount increased with the increase of copper(Ⅱ) ions concentration.As one of the elecochemistry method,PSA can be also used to study the adsorption rules of heavy metal ions on minerals.
