Abstract
The biosorption of Uranium on two kinds of yeasts from aqueous solution and the effects of the experimental conditions on the biosorption and the effects of various pretreatment procedures are investigated. The experimental results show that the yeasts are an efficient biosorbent, by which 99% U in aqueous solution can be adsorbed. The adsorption capacity of the yeasts is more than 162.5mgU/g.The relationship between concentration of U in aqueous solutions and adsorption capacity of U can be described by the Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption equation. The uranium adsorbed by the yeasts can be desorbed easily by 0.1mol/LNaHCO_3.
