Development Strategies of Urban Forestry Under the Rapid Urbanization Background in China

In this paper,a description is given of the rapid urbanization in China and its influences on urban environments and urban forestry,the importance of urban forestry and the corresponding strategies for urban forestry development under the current background.Urbanization progress in China has accelerated in the recent years,which has caused air,water,soil and noise pollutions affecting human well-being,and has brought challenges to urban forestry.Urban forestry can solve the above mentioned problems to a certain degree,and can produce social and economic benefits.The corresponding strategies should be adopted to develop China's urban forestry under the current background of rapid urbanization,such as finding and utilizing more space for urban forestry,improving ecological functions of urban forestry,enhancing landscape benefits of urban forestry,modifying conventional practice of urban forestry development,developing urban forestry associating with the urbanization,and strengthening planning,management and research of urban forestry.
