Abstract
[Objective] To understand the infection status of intestinal helminthes in residents of rural areas of Yunnan, so as to provide a scientific basis for formulating prevention and control measures of parasitic infection. [Methods] By prevalence survey, residents in 10 villages of 10 counties were investigated the individual health habits and parasitization with union questionnaires and intestinal helminthes were detected. [Results] A total of 971 persons were investigated, and seven intestinal infestation diseases were detected with the total infection rate of 42.95%. The infection rates of Hookworm, Ascaris, Taenia, Whipworm, pinworm, Fasciolopsis buski and paragonimus westermani were 23.69% , 19.88% , 2.99% , 2.99% , 1.85% , 0.62% and 0.10%, respectively. Significant difference was found among the different areas, age groups and nationalities (P﹤ 0.05). [Conclusion] The infection rates of intestinal infestation diseases in residents of rural areas have decreased, and health education and control measures should be taken for residents in rural areas.
