Abstract

One of the most famous translators in modern China,Lin Shu(1852-1924) has also made great achievements in comparative studies of literature.His comparison of Chinese and foreign novels focuses on that of objects described and artistic techniques.He also compares his own novels with those written by Western novelists.His comparisons among foreign novels have,in particular,marked a milestone in the development of comparative study as a research method.
