Abstract

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of thin-flap Laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK) for the treatment of high myopia. Methods 145 eyes of 82 patients with high myopia and thin cornea were treated with thin-flap LASIK and followed up for at least 6 months, observed the changes of patients' visual and refraction between preoperative and postoperative. Results Postoperative reaction was mild in thin-flap LASIK patients. At the first day,the uncorrected visual acuity was markedly improved. At 6 months postoperatively there were 112 eyes(77.2%) of UCVA above 1.0,29 eyes(20.0%) of UCVA between 0.5 and 0.8,4 eyes(2.8%)of UCVA blow 0.5,and 118 eyes(81.4%) were within±1.0D of ametropia. There was not severe complications that implicate the BSCVA occurred in-operation and postoperatively. The main complication in thin-flap LASIK was corneal flap striae. Conclusion Thin-flap LASIK is a more effective and security method for the treatment of high myopia.
