Analysis of efficacy of ceftazidime in treatment of infection of thoracic surgery

Abstract
To observe and evaluate the clinical effect and safety of ceftazidime for injection used in general thoracic surgery. Methods The clinical effect and side effect after application of ceffazidime on 96 operative cases from August to October in 2005 were observed and evaluated. Results The total effective rate of ceffazidime was 95.9%, the rate of adverse reaction of ceffazidime was 5.2%. Conclusion Ceffazidime is an effective and safe antibiotic. It might be one of the drug of choice for general thoracic surgery.
