Therapeutic Results of Compound Lactate-Glucose Injection in the Treatment of Infantile Diarrhea

In order to use closed-infusion widely eighteen cases of diarrhea were treatedwith injection of sodium lactate and glucose compound.Besides clinical observation,blood gas,sodium,potassium,sugar,GPT were measured before and after treatment.The result indicated that dehydration and metabolic acidosis were corrected satisfac-torily.Blood sodium and calcium levels were normal,renal function showed someimprovement,but blood potassium was not corrected effectively.Extra potassiumshould be added into the solution especially in severe cases of metabolic acidosiswith hypokalemia.
