Abstract
Based on the ideas of Discontinuous Galerkin method proposed by Cockburn and Shu,a two-dimensional Discontinuous Galerkin method is implemented on structured grids. The DGM with second order and third order accuracy are applied to simulate transonic inviscid flow over a NACA-0012 airfoil. The moment limiter is applied to suppress the spurious oscillation near the discontinuous solution, meanwhile, the accuracy order being remained essentially.Numerical results show that the DG method has excellent ability to capture shocks, the moment limiter suppress spurious oscillation successfully, and the higher order scheme is more accurate in capturing shocks than the lower order scheme.
