Abstract
Space traveling wave tube amplifiers(TWTAs) play a very important role in satellite communication systems and their performance heavily impact on communication quality. This application calls for rigorous requirements on its linearity. This paper presents a linearizer circuit structure, which is composed of a Schottky diode and a pHEMT,to improve the linearity of a k-band space traveling wave tube. The simulation results show that the linearizer can improve the nonlinear characteristics of the system gain and phase shift to some extent, and improve the linearity in the operating frequency range of TWTA.
