Abstract
The growth models during 0 to 7 months were investigated using Logisitic and Compertz model for Boer goat, the first, second and third gradingup generation of Tangshan milk goat with Boer goat, The results showed that fitness ( R 2) of the two models was above 0.96, and the Compertz model had higher R 2 value than Logisitic model. The parameters of maximum body weight, inflection age, body weight at inflection age, maximum daily gain, and maximum growth rate estimated with Compertz model showed that all goats grew fast at early age, and the growth rate between male and female within different types was considerably different. Meanwhile, the difference was also existed among different types. Male and female goats of the second gradingup generation or the female ewes of the third gradingup generation had similar performance with Boer goat.
