Abstract
Objective:To observe the influence of electroacupuncture on the levels of corticosterone in blood serum in rats with temporary cerebral ischemia-reperfusion.Method: 160 female Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: normal control group(n=40),electroacupuncture preconditioning control group(n=40),cerebral ischemia-reperfusion group(n=40),cerebal ischeinia-reperfusion and electroacupuncture preconditioning group(n=40).The cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury model was established by using common carotid artery blood drainage method in rats.Blood serum was obtained from eyeballs. The levels of corticosterone were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: Acupuncture preconditioning of Shenshu and Baihui had significantly influence on the levels of corticosterone during ischemia/reperfusion.It cut down the levels of corticosterone in every phase of reperfusion after ischemia(P0.05). Conclusion: The effect of acupuncture preconditioning of Shenshu and Baihui on the corticosterone levels during ischemia/reperfusion in rats might be one of the important bases for combating the injury induced by temporary cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.
