On the Communicative Value of Language Fuzziness

Abstract
This paper discusses the communicative value of fuzzy expression in conversation from the perspective of daily communication. The author thinks correct use of fuzzy expression not only can follow cooperative principle and politeness principle but also can leave space for the speaker himself (herself) and avoid embarrassment or enhance the appeal of utterance.
