Abstract

Effects of fertilization on the growth of the fine roots of camphor seedlings were investigated by using 1-year-old potted camphor seedlings and adopting exponential fertilization method.Three root indices, such as the average diameter, average length and specific length were measured.1)The degree of influence of the three main nutrients on fine root diameter was NPK.Nitrogen significantly(p0.05) improved the average diameter of the roots with the 1st-2nd order.2)Nitrogen fertilizer promoted the average length of the roots with the 1st-2nd order. The proper proportion of N,P,K mixed fertilizers could significantly(p0.05)promote the elongation of the roots with 1st order.3)Nitrogen fertilizer could significantly(p0.05)promote the specific length of the roots with the 1st-2nd order, while no significant influence on the roots with the 3rd or high order. It was concluded that the optimal fertilization amounts on one seedling were 4g nitrogen,4g phosphorus, and 2g potassium.
