Abstract

Objective To investigate TCM syndrome of post-stroke fatigue and its distribution characteristics and to explore relationship between Fatigue Severity Scale(FSS) score and TCM syndrome. Methods Information of 126 patients met the inclusion criteria of ischemic stroke were collected according to Chinese medicine clinical syndrome information collection form. Then FSS score and TCM syndrome type were determined for each patient. Results The basic syndrome of post-stroke fatigue was qi deficiency and blood stasis, accounting for 73% of the all syndrome types; the most common TCM syndromes were qi deficiency and blood stasis,qi deficiency with blood stasis and phlegm,qi and yin deficiency with blood stasis and the FSS scores of these three types were significantly higher than those of wind phlegm with fire hyperactivity, wind phlegm with blood stasis, yin deficiency with wind stirring types(P 0.05). Conclusion The most common TCM syndromes of post-stroke fatigue are deficient root and excessive superficial, with qi deficiency with blood stasis,qi deficiency with blood stasis and phlegm,qi and yin deficiency with blood stasis as the most common types.
