Abstract

ObjectiveTo investigate the influence factors of dried blood spot determination of glucose-6-phosph-ate-dehydrogenase(G6PD)in newborns.MethodsThe influence factors of assay such as collecting blood in different seasons, sampling site, born baby sex, accouchement way(natural labor or caesarean),specimen store condition and time, wiping off blood spots or not and determination times were observed.ResultsThe collection of blood in different seasons, accouchment ways, after adding the copper reagent to wipe off blood spot or not and determination time had influence for G6PD result. The sampling site of dried blood spots and born baby sex had no influence on G6PD result.ConclusionsMany influencing factors were noted in newborn screening assay by dried blood spots. To assure the quality of screening best condition should be controlled. The screening quality can be assured effectively.
