Application of Pictorial Method in Teaching Foreigners Initial Consonant of a Chinese Syllable through the Internet

Using network techniques,the web-based teaching of Chinese for foreigners has obtained an unprecedented development.But some experiences of traditional classroom instruction have not given a full play in the web-based classroom.Teaching of initial consonant of a Chinese syllable is such one example.This paper analyzes difficulties of teaching of initial consonant of a Chinese syllable,reasons why traditional teaching methods are not easy to apply on the internet,current situations of online teaching of initial consonant of a Chinese syllable,so as to illustrate the cause to create graphical representation,and lastly introduces application methods and advantages of pictorial method in teaching foreigners initial consonants of Chinese syllable.
