A contrastive analysis of Chinese and English affixations

Abstract
Based on the studies of Chinese affixation,this paper makes a quantitive and qualitative study of the Chinese affixation compared with the English affixation,and holds that the Chinese affixation is actually parataxis of word-formation and that the inflexibility of the Chinese syllables prevents affixation in English sense from appearing in Chinese.
