Diagnosis of Cavernous Transformation of Portal Vein With Multi-slice CT

Abstract

Objective To investigate the diagnosis and clinical value of cavernous transformation of portal vein(CTPV) with Multi-slice CT.Methods Seventeen cases including 14 males and 3 females,ranging from 25 to 73 of CTPV diagnosed by MSCT were analyzed retrospectively.All the MSCT scans were achieved with plain and 3-phase enhancement scanning,with a protocol of 1.25 mm thickness and 0.625 mm gapping,following with the MPR and STS-MIP.All the cases were confirmed by DSA、US or operations. Results In all 17 cases,the dilated and tortuous collateral veins were viewed and the normal portal vein system disappeared,the gallbladder vein was found in 17 cases,the plexus of parabile veins were appeared in 10 cases,and the left gastric vein was delivered in 8 cases. Conclusion MSCT with MPR and STS-MIP reconstructions plays an important role in diagnosing CTPV due to its micro invasive,fast and convenient features,and the right diagnosis contributes to the better select of clinical treatment plans.
