Abstract

Chadan in the poetic drama of the Yuan Dynasty is a special character derived from Dan (actress or female character type in opera). It is indispensable for enriching the gut,flourishing the atmosphere,propelling the drama conflict, development and intensification. Its appearance was an importance mature sign of the drama shape, and it also bore the weight of wind and cloud of the age, of the human feelings and the ways of the world under the multivariate culture collision of the Jin Yuan Times
