Abstract

Examining the relationship between the Christian culture and narrative in Chinese novels, this paper discovers two features: the allusions and references in the Bible become the main theme;and the narrative framework of the biblical allusions becomes the model of narrative in Chinese novels. This is one of the producing modes of Chinese novels. However,Chinese novels based on such a model are not necessarily of Christian implication. The relationship between the Christian culture and narrative in Chinese novels reveal some trace of growth of New Chinese novels from another angle.
