Beam Blank Continuous Casting Technology and its Research

In the steel products,various special-shaped steel plays an important part.The most ideal blank for the production of H-shaped steel is near-net-shape continuous casting beam blank.Currently there are only three beam blank continuous casting production lines in our country.As a production technology for a new type of blank,the continuous casting technology of beam blank is still in its infancy stage either at home or abroad.The cross-section of beam blank is complicated in shape.So its production process is vulnerable to the internal quality and surface quality defects.This paper points out the direction of further study on beam blank continuous casting technology in China,by analyzing the characteristics of beam blank continuous casting and its concerning key technologies,and considering the main quality defects in the production of beam blank.
