A Study of Impacts of TOU Tariff on Shanghai Residents

Abstract

The residential peak-valley TOU tariff is an effective way to avoid the peak load.However,it's hard to measure its effects.In order to analyse the impacts of TOU tariff on Shanghai residents.Residential questionnaires are designed,including many factors such as electricity applications, residential density,electricity expenditure that may influence the trend of residential electricity consumption.Data analysis helps to conclude that the TOU tariff policy does increase residential consumption and tendency of consuming valley electricity,especially for mid-tier consumers.
