Abstract
Buddhism and Taoism began to prosper in the early period of Wei-jing Southern and Northern Dynasties,a period when the two religions,Buddhist and Taoism,competed with and rejected each other,at the same time absorbed and mixed with each other.This paper analyzes the relationship between Buddhist and Taoism by addressing several controversial issues between Buddhist and Taoism as well as the similarities between the two religions.
