Abstract

Objective To investigate the value of magnification mammography for the diagnosis of the breast diseases.Meth-ods Fifty-eight cases suspected with breast diseases by the conventional mammography went through digital magnification mammography for the suspicious focus, then the obtained images were compared with the conventional ones. Results Magni-fication mammography had a better definition of the detection of the focus and the display of its edge, calcification and structure when compared with the conventional one,and the former was gifted with an accuracy of 60.3% and the latter with an accuracy of 84.5%.Conclusion Magnification mammography can enhance the detection rate of the breast diseases, and thus can be used for differential diagnosis of benign tumors and malignant ones.
