Endovascular embolization in the treatment of anterior communicating aneurysms

Objective To study the imaging features,endovascular interventional techniques and outcomes of anterior communicating aneurysms.Methods A total of 26 cases of anterior communicating aneurysms were treated by endovascular embolization,including 4 aneurysms with remodeling technique,2 with micro coil technique and 1 with stent/coil treatment.Results Total occlusion was achieved in 18 aneurysms(69.2%),over 90% occlusion in 3 aneurysms(11.5%),less than 90% in 5 aneurysms(19.3%).Two patients(7.7%) occurred bleeding during operation and 1 patient died of aneurysm rupture.Conclusion Embolization of intracranial aneurysms with coils is minimally invasive,safe,effective and reliable.Proper choosing of embolization methods according to the imaging features of anterior communicating aneurysms can increase the total occlusion rate and decrease the cerebral infarction rate.
