Abstract

Objective To study distribution of the integron in gram negative bacteria and explore the relationship between integron and their resistance Methods Screening integron in clinical isolates by use of PCR and typing the integron positive strains by RFLP Results 87strains(25 6%) of 340 clinical isolates were observed in class 1 integron and one of them was showed in class 2 integron too Susceptibility test shows their resistance as follow as 9 2% of imipenem;34 5% of piperacillin tazobactam and amikacin;35 6% of cefepime;41 4% of ceftazidime;65 5% of cefotaxime;66 7% of gentamicin;67 8% of ceftriaxone;72 4% of ticarcillin clavulanic acid and 73 6% of ciprofloxacin.Conclusions Our study suggests that integron exist in the gram negative bacteria widely The antibiotics resistance of the integron positive strains was higher that of the negative ones than
