Abstract
Antistatic polypropylene (PP) was prepared via blending PP with an antistatic agent. The effects of solvents and blending method on the antistatic property of PP were studied. It was found that strong shearing and the use of an organic solvent may promote the dispersion of antistatic agent in the PP matrix, and the diffusion of antistatic agent from bulk to surface, thus increased the antistatic ability of PP. Blending PP and an antistatic agents with ethanol as solution may produce PP materials with an optimal antistatic property.
