Abstract
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) level of tau protein in patients with Alzheimer's disease(AD).Methods The CSF level of tau protein in 18 patients with AD,16 patients with multiple infarct dementia(MID) and 17 patients with other neurological disease was measured by ELISA.Results The CSF level of tau protein was a significant difference between AD group and MID group(P 0.01),between AD group and controls(P 0.01),but there was not a significant difference between MID group and controls(P 0.05).Accompanied by aged,the CSF level of tau protein in AD group elevated,but it did not show a correlation.There was not a significant difference in varying degree patients(P 0.05).Conclusion The CSF level of tau protein is helpful in the diagnosis and distinction of AD.
