Ncidence of communicable diseases in Songtao County From 1996 to 2007

Objective the present study was designed to gain insight into the dynamic epidemic situation and the epidemiological characteristics of the notifiable communicable diseases in Shongtao County from 1996 to 2007,and to provide scientific facts for the formulation of the strategies for the prevention and control of communicable diseases.MethodsDescriptive epidemiology was employed to analyze the data on the incidences of the communicable diseases and their order and the change in the diseases among the residents in Shongtao in the 12 years.ResultsIt was found that the average annual incidence rate of the communicable diseases in the 12 years was 274.94/105,with an annual mortality rate of 2.84/105(212 cases).The total incidence rate of the communicable diseases presented wavelike decrease.The pulmonary tuberculosis,dysentery,measles,typhoid fever and different types of hepatitis accounting for 93.35% of total cases.The rabies mortality is at the first of communicable diseases.ConclusionThe total incidence rate of the communicable diseases assumed wavelike decrease in the 12 years in Shongtao County.The pulmonary tuberculosis,dysentery,measles,typhoid fever and different types of hepatitis were main communicable diseases,rabies mortality is the main type in communicable diseases,The prevention and control of communicable diseases still need to be taken seriously.
